This adapter allows 2wd to 4wd conversion of any rear wheel drive Toyota & Lexus automatic 4-speed transmission. Most commonly used on Tacoma PreRunners, (hence the name) this adapter fits any '85 or newer rear wheel drive Toyota or Lexus vehicle with an automatic 4-speed transmission. This adapter will work to connect almost ANY Toyota flange and Toyota drive shaft!! It will even work as a drive shaft spacer for all patterns except the 95' and older CV's. This adapter does not work with the early 8mm bolt patterns, but works with all later 10mm bolt patterns. Toyota installed gear driven transfer cases in 4 cylinder pickups and 4Runners from 1979 through 1995. Speed sensors were not used as standard equipment in these rigs until about 1992. Speed sensors from chain driven t-cases don't fit gear driven t-cases. This means that swapping out a chain driven case in favor of a gear driven unit, in a 1992 or newer Toyota, will require a speed sensor. Learn More

These are new dust seals that are usually caked with dirt when you replace the seal. If it is caked with dirt, then it probably has been doing a good job by keeping it away from your transfer case. These are new OEM units from Toyota, so you know they are great quality. Learn More
Toyota Gear Driven Transfer Cases were originally designed for at the most (22RTE Turbo) 101 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque. With the demands of 4.0L FJ, 4Runners and Tacomas pushing 254 hp and 270 lb-ft of Torque, (2UZFE 4.7L V8 at 311 lb-ft) there is greater chances of breakages to the Toyota Gear Driven Components.
