FAQ:
Question: What does it mean for my Samurai if I have a "Small Flange" or a "Large Flange"?
Answer: If you have a 1986-1989 Samurai then you most likely have small flanges. This is usually indicated by a smaller 8mm diameter bolt. Large Flanges years 1990-1995 have a larger 10MM bolt.
Question: If I have a Samurai that has a small flange, how do I run a Toyota Drive Shaft?
Answer: There are 2 ways to do this.
1. We recommend removing your front output flange from your transfer case first to see if the seal surface on the flange is still in good condition. If the seal surface has grooves or has pitting from rust, we recommend that you replace your flange. You can do this by purchasing a "Late Large Style Samurai Transfer Case flange" and notating in your order that you would like it machined to fit a Toyota Driveshaft Pilot Bore. Please note that the Late Large Style Transfer Case flange will only work with Toyota Driveshafts that have a 60MM x 60MM bolt pattern.
2. The other way is running a Toyota Driveline Adapter such as the Pentadapter 5 Pattern Suzuki to Toyota Drive Line Adapter. These are designed to be bolted directly to your Samurai 1986-1989 Small Pattern Flange on your transfer case and then bolted to a Toyota Driveshaft. These also give you many options in Toyota drivelines that can be used. The only drawbacks to a driveline adapter is that they slightly increase the angle on your driveshaft. If you have an extreme amount of lift on a short wheelbase vehicle, the new late style flange may be best for you. They also increase the rotating mass of the drivetrain. Something that is almost laughable for the Samurai anyway because it is no racecar from the factory.

PTFE Teflon Driveshaft Slip Yoke Lubricant Ford Motorcraft XG-8 (ML1167/31508-42027)
$7.82When you are hitting the brakes on your Toyota Tacoma, Hilux, 4Runner or Sequoia and there almost seems like someone is hitting you in the rear it most likely is the cause of the drive line or drive shaft splines not lubricated.
This is the best lubricant on the market for driveshaft slip yokes. It has a PTFE base, usually known as Teflon, most of which you see in heim joints or rod ends for great wear-ability. PTFE is also used in high friction applications because it does not easily get washed off when hit with water.

Suzuki Samurai Drive Line Spacers
Starting at: $24.50
Adding lift to your Samurai usually over extends the slip yokes on the drive shafts. The easiest and most cost effective fix is adding a drive shaft spacer. Doing so avoids the hassles of making a new drive shaft, which is not only difficult but expensive. The spacer works by attaching between drive shaft flanges.

Steel Pinion Castor / Shims (pair)
$39.00Caster angle has alot to do with many steering issues you may have. Most just worry about their pinion angle in the front but you have to deal with your caster angle first and pinion angle second. You generally between 2 and 5 degrees positive caster. That means the top of your tire is angled toward the fire wall. Kind of like a bycicle. For the rear you have to set your pinion angle differently for the type of drive shaft you are running.
