Longfield 4340 Chromoly Hub Gears
It has became obvious, with stronger axles than ever before, the next week link has became the inner hub gears. When the hub gear fails it strips off the splines on the birfield. Then there is nothing you can do but replace the birfield. TG Chromo Hub Gears
Having bigger tires means more failure points for your rig. The OEM Aisin hubs are known for their strength, much higher in strength than the aftermarket options. The weak link in the hubs are the gears, and when you have a weak hub gear it risks the chance of ruining the shaft on the end of your birfield joint when it fails. That is why this gear is made entirely out of 4340 chromoly material, its much stonger than the OEM 1979-85 Toyota hub gear. Dirty 30's- 30 Spline Birfield/Axle Kit What does it mean, 30 Spline? Strength. Stock axle sets from Toyota were designed to be used with the tires they were running, and the gear ratio of the vehicle...from the factory. Change both of those and you are asking for trouble. The stock tire size of a Toyota pickup was generally a 225/75/R15 which translates to about a 28" tire. Now what happens when you put large tires on? Bang! Birfield goes quickly. What happens when you put a stronger birfield? Bang! Inner axle goes. What if you put on a stronger birfield and axle set that is 27 spline? Bang! Axle tends to usually make a clean break where it goes into the birfield. The only way to gain ultimate strength is by jumping up to 30 splines on the inner axle where it goes into the birfield.
The Dirty 30's answers the woes to broken axles, utilizing 100% 4340 Chromoly material for both the Birfield and the inner axles and then precision polished to remove any imperfections that may cause stress risers. What does that mean, stress risers? It is a location in the axle where stress is concentrated, such as a machining mark or sharp corner. There is a reason why there is a no questions asked lifetime warranty, it is because they were designed never to break! These parts have undergone years of extensive examination both on a testing machine and out in the field. The average failure on the testing machine was consistently at 8500 ft. lbs. of applied torque at a 30 degree angle. In the field these were tested at the Hammers, known for its brutality. Also tested in Competition Formula Toyota's, and other buggies and trucks with no failures to report. Offered at a great price too!

"Better Than Stock" 4340 Chromoly Birfield
This is an OEM style, 27-spline birfield made entirely out of 4340 chromoly material. The material upgrade makes this birfield much stronger than stock. Note: This product carries a one year warranty against defects. This warranty covers defects in material and workmanship. An example of a covered defect would be a missed machining step that prevents installation or a significant internal material void. This warranty does not cover normal failure or breakage that is typical when using stock joints in extreme conditions. These 4340 Chromoly Birfield joints will not hold up to extreme usage with oversized tires, so we recommend using 30 spline upgraded axle sets shown above, available through Low Range Off-Road.

Creeper
Flanges
Heavy duty drive flanges for Toyota solid front axles. These
flanges are much stronger then factory drive flanges or lock
out hubs. Flanges feature a larger center section with more
support for the splines. Made from hardened tool steel (4340
Chromoly), these hold up much better to the kinds of torque
possible with today's heavy duty aftermarket axles. Kit includes
2 flanges, 2 dust covers, 2 cover seals, drill bit and 12
heavy duty studs. Additional studs share the load, preventing
hub stud and bolt failures common to stock drive flanges and
hubs. Flange covers feature an exclusive O-ring for a water
proof seal. If your running stock hubs on your truck, drive
flanges make a great trail spare for your tool box. If your
stock hub gears fail on the trail, drive flanges can be quickly
installed to restore 4wd. Fits 1979-1985 Toyota Pickup/4Runner
solid front axles.

Toyota Chromoly Rear Axles
We thought for such a long time that the stock rear axles
in our Toyota’s were as strong as you could get from
the factory....until POW! Larger tires, lower gears, and a
heavier foot on the throttle can cause havoc to your factory
rear axles when the torque put on them is beyond what they
were designed to take. These axles feature a break strength
of 8,300 ft-lbs or torque and up to 120 degrees of twist which
really counts when shock loads are at a maximum. Plus, they
carry a Lifetime Warranty! Applications fit 79-95 Toyota Pickups
and 4Runners.

Rock Assault Rear Axle Housing
Trail-Gear, Inc introduces a new concept to axle housing design. This exclusive design features axle tubes that have been offset above the housing centerline. The inner axles ride near the bottom of the axle tubes rather than in the center. The results are an increase of 3/8" ground clearance under the axle tubing. Axle tubes are made from ¼” thick DOM tubing.
The heavy-duty, press formed, 1/4" plate steel center section shell is specially shaped to ensure a minimum of 3/4" additional clearance under the differential. The differential mounting surface is made from ½” plate steel to ensure studs can not pull out, even under heavy loads. The outer offset flanges are made from 4130 Chromoly to prevent distortion or bending. Housings are precision alignment checked using start-of-the-art, 3D digital imaging equipment.
The Rock-Assault axle housings use stock or aftermarket 1986-1995 Toyota Pickup/4Runner axle shafts. An optional fill / inspection cap can be installed for an additional fee. Additional lengths as well as front applications will be available soon.
Overall housing length is 51 3/8" mounting flange to mounting flange. Empty housing is 54 lbs. Includes drain plug. Spring Perches, Shock Mounts, and Vent not included. Differential stud kit and RTV silicon are included and are recommended for use with this axle. Unpainted bare-metal, oiled finish to prevent rusting. We recommend degrease housing inside & out before installation and painting.

Fill / Inspection Cap
Extra large differential fill and inspection cap. Designed to allow quick access for inspecting the ring gear. Features 1.5" diameter access hole. Threaded aluminum cap uses a rubber o-ring for a tight seal. Installation requires cutting a hole in to the top of the differential housing and welding on a threaded bung. Rear Axle Upper 4 Link Mount
This bracket is designed to accommodate 1.25" Johnny Joints or Creeper Joints. The upper link mount kit can be ordered loose as a do-it your-self install, or it can be ordered installed onto a housing if you are ordering a housing at the same time. Choose between the OEM axle link mount and the one designed to fit the Rock Assault Rear axle housing.This product is not compatible with the "Creeper Breather" diff vent kit, but our "Breather Extensions" and OEM breather's have been used to vent the differential.

Housing Breather
Factory Toyota axle housing breather. Internal spring loaded
flapper valve prevents water from entering through breather
during water crossings. Stock replacement for old, rusted
or damaged units.

Solid Axle Differential
Breather Extension
Why would you want to modify a Factory Breather? Simply put,
the stock breathers will not keep water out when submerged.
Normally you would use just the factory breather...until you
go through a river or mud! Plus, when a differential
cools down it creates a vacuum due to the cooling effect...who
wants to vacuum water in their diff? Protect your differential
by installing these breathers and adding on your own section
of tubing available at most auto parts stores. Its a
cheap and easy trick to add protection to your differentials.
Much easier than re-tapping your differential, just remove
the factory breather and screw this one in.

Magnetic Drain Plug
Magnetic Drain Plugs are a great way of keeping metal from
building up in the oil. Low profile design uses recessed 10mm

more width without changing out your axle for a wider one.
Great for use on solid axles conversions to make the front
axle similar in width the wider rear axle found on 86 and
up Toyota trucks. Bolt pattern is 6 stud on a 5.5" round

Backing Plate Eliminator
The brake backing plates can be a bother on front Toyota solid
axles. They often get bent from trail damage and small rocks
can get trapped between the backing plate and the rotor causing
noise and damage. For many years we have taken the stock brake
backing plate and cut out the center section. Then we would
reassemble the axle with just the center part for spacing.
We have come up with a cleaner way to accomplish the same
thing. Our backing plate eliminator kit contains two spacer
rings that take the place of the factory backing plate. The
rings are the same thickness as stock for proper component
spacing.
Installation is easy, simply remove the stock backing plate
and replace with our rings when your servicing the knuckle.

Hub Outer Dial O-Ring
There is a small rubber O-ring located between the inner and
outer hub dials. If this ring becomes damaged water and dust
can leak into the hubs. It can also make turning the dial
difficult. Easy to install using snap ring pliers and 10mm
socket.

Inner Axle Seals
When you swap out a Birfield joint it's a good idea to change
the inner axle seal at the same time to keep the knuckles
clean of weeping oil. Fits 79-85 Toyota solid front axle.

Knuckle Ball Gussets
Large tires and ruff driving can bend the outer knuckle ends,
damaging your front solid axle. The Creeper Gusset Kit reinforces
the knuckle ball and helps prevent this bending. Upper gussets
include holes for mounting shocks. Kit includes two upper,
shock shock mounts, two lower gussets, and eight steering
stop gussets.
Fits 1979-1985 solid Toyota front axle. Weld on installation.

Pinion / Castor
Shims
Caster angle has a lot to do with many steering issues you may have. Most just worry about their pinion angle in the front but you have to deal with your caster angle first and pinion angle second. You generally want 2-5 degrees positive caster. That means the top of your tire is angled toward the fire wall. For the rear you have to set your pinion angle differently for the type of drive shaft you are running. These solid steel angle shims are your ticket to safe and vibration free driving. 2.25" Toyota Spring Width.
Available in 3, 5, and 7 degree shims. Note: Using over a 3 degree shim in front with crossover steering setups and large leaf packs may cause the tie rod to hit the leaf spring.

54mm Spindle Socket
Our 54mm sockets are designed for servicing Toyota front axle
wheel bearings. We know you don't carry a 3/4" drive
ratchet in your tool bag so we made these sockets fit right
on your 3/8" ratchet with no additional adapters needed.

Knuckle Pull Scale
A pull scale is helpful in setting up the shims on a knuckle. By decreasing the shims above and below the knuckle the knuckle becomes tighter. When installing new knuckle bearings we recommend checking the shims with a pull scale. Attach the pull scale on the steering arm with the tie rod / drag link removed and the felt on the back side of the knuckle not yet installed. The knuckle should not move until about 15 lbs of force is applied to the steering arm.
